Title: You and Emmaus: news and updates from the Bristol Emmaus community.
Client: Emmaus Bristol. Charity that houses homeless people giving them purpose through work and support to move on to independent living.
Overview: Quarterly newsletter published online and in print. Distributed to donors’ database and in the charity’s three Bristol shops. Editions include a regular ‘meet the team’ article and service-user story. I suggested an A3 cross-fold design creating an eight-page, easy-mailable printed newsletter with a magazine-style front cover; and a magazine-style online flip-book allowing consistent page design across both media – recipients receive an HTML email with article introductions linking to the flip-book.
Brief, aims and outcome: Provide news updates, calls to action and insights to the community’s members and activities aiding its connection with donors and potential supporters. Create eight-page printed newsletter, online flip-book publication and Mailchimp subscribers’ email newsletter. I am provided with first drafts of articles to edit, or bullet-pointed information from which to write articles. Photos supplied with the text; I create illustrations and infographics where needed.
